Lompoc Flower Festival Parade honors S4S, SLD 30 leadership

The Lompoc Flower Festival honored top leadership from U.S. Space Forces - Space and Space Launch Delta during its parade in Lompoc, California, June 22, 2024. Leadership included U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. Douglas A. Schiess, S4S Commander and the Combined Joint Force Space Component Commander, Chief Master Sgt. Grange S. Coffin, S4S command senior enlisted leader, Col. Mark A. Shoemaker, SLD 30 commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jay L. Harris, SLD 30 command SEL. More than 800 attendees watch over 50 different attractions and performances during the parade.

Ecuador, Uruguay receive SDA familiarization immersion through S4S

Members of the Ecuador and Uruguay armed forces visited Vandenberg Space Force Base for a space familiarization tour 21-23 May. During the visit, participants received briefings on U.S. Space Forces - Space, the Combined Space Operations Center, Space Domain Awareness, and Space-Track.org. Additionally, participants received a tour of the installation including two launch sites and the installation museum. By hosting countries who are new to Space Domain Awareness, the U.S. can share best practices and encourage norms of behavior in space.

Schiess, U.S. Space Forces - Space commander and Combined Joint Force Space Component Commander, participated in the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo and Parade in Santa Maria, Calif., June 1-2, 2024. Schiess and Col. Mark A. Shoemaker, Space Launch Delta 30 commander, accompanied by their senior enlisted leaders, opened the event as guest speakers for Military Appreciation Day at the rodeo.
