JTF-SD hosts Under Secretary of the Air Force

SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. — Joint Task Force-Space Defense and National Space Defense Center leaders hosted the Hon. Kristyn Jones, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller, performing the duties of Under Secretary of the Air Force at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, April 11, 2023. During the visit, Jones learned about the mission sets of the JTF-SD, NSDC, and Space Delta 15, and toured the Senior Master Sergeant Harold Robert Mosley II operations floor. Through the partnering of the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and National Reconnaissance Office in the NSDC, JTF-SD brings to bear the full force of the U.S. Government and synchronizes space superiority planning and operations. DEL 15 activates, brings C2 support to NSDC

18 SDS Det. 1 declares IOC, provides direct support to NSDC

SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. — The 18th Space Defense Squadron Det. 1 declared initial operating capability (IOC) Jan. 1, 2023.

Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) will conduct the sixteenth Schriever Wargame at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama starting March 20, 2023. The Schriever Wargame scenario, set in the year 2033, will explore critical space issues and investigate the integration activities of multiple agencies associated with space systems and services within a multi-domain environment. Schriever Wargame 2023 (SW 23) will include international partners from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
