S4S participates in local Remembrance Day ceremony

U.S. Space Forces - Space members from Australia, Canada, the U.K. and U.S. participated in a Remembrance Day ceremony, hosted by the American Legion Post 534 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Orcutt, Calif., Nov. 11, 2024. Remembrance Day is recognized by our Coalition partners and pays tribute to those who gave their lives in World War I, and to all the men and women who have served since.

Operation Olympic Defender: Allied Space Operations Centers prioritize efforts for a shared Space Common Operational Picture

Space Delta 5 and the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC) hosted a 3-day Operation Olympic Defender Common Operational Picture (COP) working group, consisting of space representatives from the Australian Space Operations Centre, Canadian Space Operations Centre and United Kingdom National Space Operations Centre. Specialists from USSF Space Operations Command, headquarters USSPACECOM and MITRE also supported this founding event.

S4S hosts Strategic Forces Subcommittee from HASC

U.S. Space Forces - Space hosted Professional Staff Members Peter Schirtzinger, Whitney Verrett and Maria Vastola from the House Armed Services Committee's Subcommittee on Strategic Forces during their visit to Vandenberg Space Forces Base, Nov. 2, 2024. Welcomed by U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Frank A. Kincaid, S4S Deputy Commander, the three HASC members received an in-depth Joint Space Operations Plan (JSOP) briefing and Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC) tour to better understand S4S's role when assessing risks and threats to the space mission, as it is the Subcommittee's jurisdiction over DoD programs such as space systems and services of the military departments.

Tina Timmerman, S4S Command Senior Enlisted Leader, hosted Dr. Jon Epstein, Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) professional staff member (PSM), and Ms. Kristina Belcourt, SASC PSM, at the National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, Oct. 21, 2024. While visiting the NSDC, they attended a classified brief to discuss joint space operations planning and better understand how S4S plans to protect the joint warfighter from space enabled attack and defend our space assets and those of our allies. S4S ensures safety of spaceflight, return of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-8

U.S. Space Forces – Space (S4S) supports NASA human space flight by planning, integrating, executing, and assessing space operations, providing continuous space situational awareness monitoring for the International Space Station and visiting spacecraft. The ability to detect, track, and identify space objects in near real-time provides unique space domain awareness that ensures safety of humans in space and understanding for the United States Space Command Area of Operations. Additionally, S4S provides conjunction analysis and potential collision notifications to NASA and other satellite owner-operators.
