SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. –
First Lt. Hannah Rached, 18th Space Control Squadron Operating Location-Colorado, completes a demonstration of the Joint Task Force-Space Defense’s ability to transmit tasks to Navy assets as part of its threat-focused space domain awareness mission at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, on Oct. 1, 2021. This demonstration further strengthened partnerships with Space Systems Command, Missile Defense Agency, U.S. Navy and other stakeholders while continuing to mature a concept allowing improved maritime-based space surveillance sensor coverage. This demonstration also provided the opportunity to continue maturing command relationships and operational roles and responsibilities. “We are proud of the teaming this successful demonstration signifies,” said U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Tom James, JTF-SD commander. “We are stronger together in every domain and to be able to bring that to bear in this operation provides resilience in our mission set.”
