Retired MARSOC Marine Reflects on service and finds healing in a service dog

Chief Warrant Officer 3 (Ret.) Thomas J. Heaton’s career in the U.S. Marine Corps encompassed over two decades of service, including nine deployments across various theaters of operations. Heaton, who served in both Counterintelligence (CI) and Human Intelligence (HUMINT) roles within Marine Corps Special Operations Command, has seen and experienced more than most in his field, but his journey post-service led him to his four-legged partner, Colt.

Gen. Whiting, Chief Simmons share USSPACECOM priorities, recognize accomplishments at S4S

U.S. Space Force Gen. Stephen N. Whiting, U.S. Space Command commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jacob C. Simmons, command senior enlisted leader for USSPACECOM, met with U.S. Space Forces - Space leadership and members during an immersion Jan. 15, 2025, at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. Brazil hosts the Global Sentinel 25 Mid-Planning Conference

S4S establishes strategic vision after first year of successes

On Dec. 6, 2023, U.S. Space Forces – Space stood up as the Space Force Service Component to U.S. Space Command. The activation of S4S was part of U.S. Space Force’s plan to normalize the presentation of space forces across combatant commands and most efficiently meet the challenges presented by the dynamic national security environment and the return to great power competition.
