VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. –
Royal Canadian Air Force Lt. Gen. Blaise F. Frawley, commander of the Canadian Element of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (CANELEMNORAD) and deputy commander of NORAD, recently concluded a two-day visit to Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, May 6-7, 2025. The primary focus of the visit was to engage with the Canadian NORAD Space Detachment, recognizing its contributions and holding a town hall meeting.
During his visit, Frawley also toured various operational units supported by the detachment. He observed Global Sentinel 2025, a multinational exercise hosted by U.S. Space Command, and visited the 18th Space Operations Squadron.
Additional engagements included a meeting with base leadership and a mission briefing from S4S leadership. Frawley concluded his visit with a tour of the Combined Space Operations Center operations floor and underscored the important, longstanding and continued close cooperation between the United States and Canada in defending the North American continent.
