VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. –
U.S. Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX-02) and staff from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) visited U.S. Space Forces - Space (S4S) to see firsthand how the U.S. Space Force is integrated with the Intelligence Community to protect and defend U.S. and allied interests in space May 4, 2026.
The visit was hosted by Lt. Gen. Dennis Bythewood, S4S commander and the Combined Joint Force Space Component commander. The delegation received a mission brief on S4S and a tour of the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), the nation’s premier joint and combined space operations center. The tour included a demonstration of software capabilities that helps the Space Force quickly find and fix enemy signal jamming, allowing military experts to make faster, better decisions to protect U.S. satellites and support troops on the ground.
The primary purpose of the visit was to educate and generate support for U.S. Space Force initiatives by showcasing the deep integration between S4S and the Intelligence Community. This critical partnership will continue to yield immense benefits for the joint warfighter as the Space Force looks to double in size and capabilities in the coming years.
The visit provided the congressional delegation with a deeper understanding of the resources and capabilities required to ensure the U.S. maintains its strategic advantage in an increasingly contested space domain.
