S4S Welcomes Swedish Chief of Space to Strengthen NATO Space Partnership

U.S. Space Forces – Space (S4S) hosted Swedish Armed Forces Rear Admiral Anders Sundeman, Chief of Space, on May 4, 2026, to advance bilateral cooperation and strengthen the NATO alliance's space capabilities.

The visit, led by U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. Dennis O. Bythewood, S4S commander and Combined Joint Force Space Component commander, focused on integrating Sweden’s growing space enterprise into the collective security framework. Discussions centered on enhancing space domain awareness, developing resilient architectures, and identifying opportunities for future collaboration. As NATO's newest member, Sweden's unique geographic advantages and technical capabilities are critical to deterring aggression and ensuring stability in the space domain.

S4S, as the component to U.S. Space Command, is at the forefront of integrating allies to protect and defend the space domain for the U.S., our allies, and partners.
